Family, Friends, and I want a Party!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY ERIC -- I LOVE YOU! I CAN'T BELIEVE YOU ARE 7 MONTHS OLD!

It's a beautiful day here today.  The weekend looks very promising with warm temps and sunshine.  Whoopie!

I had a nice dinner yesterday with my sister.  She will be moving farther North to take a new job that she is so excited about.  My sister is an outdoors person.  Hunting, horses, hiking, etc.  At present she is employed at a dental office.  Her new job is to help take care of the gounds and such at the National Preserve near Newcomb, NY.  Her type of job - actually it's more pleasure to her than a job.  I bet she'd do it as a volunteer - but don't tell her employer that.  She gets the winter off (lucky stiff).

Well Skip is in Austria now.  I must say how very brave he is to travel around by himself as he does.  I would be scared to death and probably end up on some other world country no one has ever heard of and be lost forever.  Way to go Skip!

I'm still in a Margarita mood.  Maybe I should plan a summer party.  You know decorate the yard Mexican style, Mexican food.  Hey - that sounds fun!  I'll invite my neighbors so there won't be any problems.  LOL!  Maybe sometime in July.  Hey - My anniversary is July 16.  Can Kevin and I plan our own Anniversary Party.  Is that proper?  What do you think?

Ok - off to lunch with myself and then I must get to work.  Till later!

Quickie Hello

I'm at work as usual, wishing I was somewhere in Mexico drinking Margarita's, relaxing, being silly and having fun.  Yep I really need to win the lottery.

I've been catching up at Skip's Place as he is on a business trip to Norway.  Pretty neat, Skip and I like the pictures.  Check him out if you get the chance.  Make sure you comment!

Till tomorrow!

Hello My Friends

We had a wonderful weekend with Eric as usual.  He is so cute and so much fun.  Otherwise, not much else happened.  It rained constantly all weekend.  Kevin and I watched "The Godfather" marathon - now there's quite a movie.  And long??? Whew!

I spent alot of the weekend still puzzling over how families nowadays make ends meet.  I am not an extravagant spender - I clip coupons and never, ever buy anything at full price.  We do not own expensive cars, nor do I spend alot on clothes - I am a T-shirt and jeans type of person, as is my husband.  We don't travel alot - just in the area, work, stores, a friend or two or to Nikki and Daniels.  We don't eat out alot.  Maybe once or twice a month (which will have to stop now).  We both make a decent salary - so what gives?  It really bothers me.

My tulips didn't open up two days in a row because it's been so cold and rainy.  I'll sure be glad to see the month of June.  That is usually when we can be sure that the weather will stay mostly in the 70's and above.

Well everyone - that's about it for me tod

ay.  I'll leave you with a cute little joke to make you smile and go off to visit and see what is new with you all!  Take care!

One day a little girl was sitting and watching her mother do the dishes at the kitchen sink. She suddenly noticed that her mother had several strands of white hair sticking out in contrast on her brunette head.

She looked at her mother and inquisitively asked, "Why are some of your hairs white, Mom?"

Her mother replied, "Well, every time that you do something wrong and make me cry or unhappy, one of my hairs turns white."

The little girl thought about this revelation for a while and then said, "Momma, how come ALL of grandma's hairs are white?"

 and one more

The children were lined up in the cafeteria of a Catholic elementary school for lunch. At the head of the table was a large pile of apples. The nun made a note, and posted on the apple tray:

"Take only ONE. God is watching."

Moving further along the lunch line, at the other end of the table was a large pile of chocolate chip cookies.

A child had written a note, "Take all you want. God is watching the apples."

Friday Arrived Fast this Week

It was a very busy, but beautiful week.  I love watching the trees turn green, the grass coming back and finally my tulips and daffodils were blooming when I went to my car this morning.  The air is chilly in the morning and warms up during the day.

On another note, I can hardly believe that gas is now $3.08 a gallon.  I've been feeling so much pressure lately financially and sometimes I wonder how other families manage with prices going up so much and incomes staying the same.  Well for vacation this year, our pool will be hoppin' -- we're staying home again.

Nikki and Daniel are bringing Eric up tonight for the weekend.  Kevin and I love having him over so much.  He brings a little bit of action into our quiet household.  We will take him to Kevin's mom's for lunch on Saturday so she can see him as well.  I picked up one of those little popscicle makers that you put juice in and freeze.  I want to see him eat his first popscicle.  He has a tooth on the bottom and one on the top.  I guess once they start coming through, they come pretty fast.

Well, it being Friday, I wish you all a fun weekend.

I went by Sal's site today during some visiting, and found the following.  She asked that we pass it on.  I'm more than happy to.

IF I HAD MY LIFE TO LIVE OVER - by Erma Bombeck
(written after she found out she was dying from cancer).

I would have gone to bed when I was sick instead of pretending the earth would go into a holding pattern if I weren't there for the day.

I would have burned the pink candle sculpted like a rose before it melted in storage.

I would have talked less and listened more.

I would have invited friends over to dinner even if the carpet was stained, or the sofa faded.

I would have eaten the popcorn in the 'good' living room and worried much less about the dirt when someone wanted to light a fire in the fireplace.

I would have taken the time to listen to my grandfather ramble about his youth.

I would have shared more of the responsibility carried by my husband.

I would never have insisted the car windows be rolled up on a summer day because my hair had just been teased and sprayed.

I would have sat on the lawn with my grass stains.

I would have cried and laughed less while watching television and more while watching life.

I would never have bought anything just because it was practical, wouldn't show soil, or was guaranteed to last a lifetime.

Instead of wishing away nine months of pregnancy, I'd have cherished every moment and realized that the wonderment growing inside me was the only chance in life to assist God in a miracle.

When my kids kissed me impetuously, I would never have said, "Later. Now go get washed up for dinner." There would have been more "I love you's" More "I'm sorry's."

But mostly, given another shot at life, I would seize every minute...look at it and really see it.. . live it and never give it back. STOP SWEATING THE SMALL STUFF!!! Don't worry about who doesn't like you, who has more, or who's doing what.  Instead, let's cherish the relationships we have with those who do love us. Let's think about what God HAS blessed us with, and what we are doing each day to promote ourselves mentally, physically, and emotionally. I hope you have a blessed day.

Busy at Work - Beautiful Poem for Blog

"IF I CAN STOP ONE HEART FROM BREAKING"

By Emily Dickinson

If I can stop one heart from breaking,
I shall not live in vain;
If I can stop one heart from breaking,
If I can ease one life the aching,
Or cool one pain,
Or help one fainting robin
Unto his nest again,
I shall not live in vain.

Baby and a Fun Weekend

img474/3710/baby1wj.jpg

Welcome Little Will -- We can't wait to see you!

******************************************

Well, it's Monday and once again I'm back at my desk.  It feels good to sit down for more than 10 minutes at a time.  The weekend was so busy I needed to come to work to rest. I doubt I'll schedule so much in one weekend again. Whew!  But if I do, I'll be a little more organized.

Friday night was a nice quiet night for my birthday.  I needed that to prepare for the frenzy of the weekend.  We watched some tv and had a few Bud Lights and talked about the weekend, family, future weekend plans and (yuck) finances - which made for a nice relaxing night.

Saturday was a trip to the grocery store to shop for the BBQ on Saturday we were having before the bowling Benefit and for the missing ingredients of Easter Dinner.  That, along with a trip to Target for a few Easter things for the kids, just about made me crazy.  The stores were packed, both the grocery store and Target and the traffic was such a pain.  By the time I got home at noontime I was STRESSED!   Guess I'm not the only last minute shopper in the world.

The BBQ was fun and Kevin Jr. brought our granddaughter Kaelynn to the house for a visit.  It was so nice to get out in the sunshine even though the wind was blowing the napkins and plates about.  The bowling Benefit was fun - even though I lost to my co-worker Scot (2 games).

Jaime came in by bus the next morning - it was so good to see him.  We had a visit from my nephew Kurt and little Kennedy who was so pretty in pink.  After all the Happy Easter telephone calls were made, I started dinner, Jaime took a nap and the rest of us sat in the yard in the sunshine again.  We were going to have the birthday cake that Nikki made me on Friday, but we were all so full and lazy we decided to just sing the Happy Birthday and let me blow out the candles so I could get a wish.  Besides, Nikki wanted me to hear the birthday candleholder that played "Happy Birthday.  Bless Nikki and her gadgets.  It was a great ham dinner, but best of all it was so good to have us all together again.

I hope everyone had as nice a holiday weekend as I did. Oh -- and Karisa had little Will on Saturday the fifteenth.  Take a stroll over and say hello.  We've been waiting so long to see him. I can't wait to hear the details.  Skip is in Norway and I think I'll go over and see how he is doing.  Talk to you all later!  Again - thanks for all the birthday wishes.  It's nice to have such good friends.

Thank You!

Well it's almost time to go home and I wanted come on and say thank you to all my friends for posting their birthday wishes to me on their Blog.  That is such a super thing and makes me feel very very specail.  And Nikki - thanks for singing to me.  You must get your great voice from your old mom!

It was a nice day - birthday lunch, visits from my kids and from my little Eric (who gave grandma a tooth for her birthday).

Last of all I want to wish everyone
A Happy Easter -- and an awesome weekend.
You are all the best!

I AM SO VERY LOVED!

My birthday wish came true.  Wednesday evening my husband gave me a beautiful birthday card - I tried to tell him he was too early and to wait till Friday, but he insisted.  Inside was $70.00 and the card was signed "Bring your son home…Love Kevin"

So - Happy Birthday to Me Today!

Thank you Cindi for the birthday wishes.  And Skip -- you didn't miss it.  Thank you also.  So good to see you stopped in.  I've missed you.  And thanks to my little Eric who managed to get that tooth through just in time for Gramma's birthday.  Ok - now Karisa it's your turn.  Push that little one out before midnight.  Then when he's 50 and I'm 100, I can tell him the story of the day he was born and I turned half a century.

Yesterday morning I went with my niece Tasha to her Dental Hygenist school as a guinea pig.  She needed 10 "patients" by the end of her semester.  How could I say no.  The classes are held at Hudson Valley Community College - and of course I went the wrong way on Highway 787 and had to turn around and go back.  I've never been up that way before and I'm not very good at knowing if I am going North or South.  But I did make it and went the right way on the way home.  I finally arrived at work at noontime.

I really must get around and do some visiting.  I've been terribly neglectful of that lately and need to see what's new with my friends.  So -- I'll be back later to fill you all in on what the day brought

I need a Birthday Wish

It's another beautiful day in Upstate New York.  Bet it hits the 70's today.  My friend Ray has sent me some samples of some beautiful music - things I had not listened to before and I've had two relaxing, peaceful mornings in a row.  Thanks Ray.

So, it's Easter week and next week all the kids will be on Spring break.  Does anyone have special plans for Easter?

I will be cooking a big dinner for family - hmmm, I think I said that in my last entry.  Jaime wants to come home for Easter, but he has to work Saturday and all his rides north are leaving Friday night.  He would have to leave after work Saturday (midnight) or early Sunday morning.  I know that he is only 2 and a half hours from me, but after getting in late Saturday night from the Bowling Benefit, and having to cook and get ready for company and Easter Dinner, it would be difficult for me to go get him.  It would total a five hour drive for me.  But then again that leaves him alone in the city for Easter.  The way the buses and trains run, it would not be worth the one day trip, not to mention that the prices are very high.  I'll have to put my thinking cap on.  I'd love to see him as it's been since Christmas that I have.  Also I don't want him to be by himself on Easter Sunday, with all his friends out of town.  Maybe if I get a birthday cake Friday, I can make a wish that it will work out and he can get home.

Can anyone believe the price of gas once again?  Last I checked this morning it was $2.77 a gallon.  Unbelievable…. We have no travel plans for this summer, and it's a good thing to or we would probably end up canceling. Our finances are tight enough as it is and thank heaven both Kevin and I live close to work.

Well - speaking of work, I'd better get back to it.  Here's a pretty neat trick for you all to try if you like.  I can never figure out how these things work.

Take your time and follow the instructions.

1) Go to the link below. After reading each window click on the boy in the

lower right corner.

2) In the last window type in your answer in the white box using the

keyboard  (there is NO cursor). You will be amazed....and no, I don't know how it's done.

Spring is Showing

We had a beautiful weekend and it's heading towards a beautiful week also.  I can feel myself wanting to get out more and do more and I love the feeling.  I'm hoping the coming weekend will be just as nice as we have lots of plans for then as well.

You all might notice I put a message up for my friend Ingrid as she sent me an email.  Unfortunately it went into the Spam folder because it wasn't recognized and after I read it without paying attention I hit the delete all button in the SPAM folder and forgot to save her address. I know you all with bear with me leaving that up till she emails me again.

It's nice to ride along the country on the way to Nikki's house and see people out raking and working on their yard.  We did some raking ourselves this weekend.

Next weekend we have the Camp Abilities Bowling Benefit that we bowl in every year.  It's always good for a good time, one too many Bud Lights and a lot of food, as a banquet is always included.  Good thing for the food or the one two many Bud Lights might be quite damaging.

We bowl with friends at 9 pm in the evening so we always have a cookout in the mid/late afternoon.  Then with the food in the evening, nobody goes hungry.  Hopefully the weather will cooperate.  It has every year thus far.  And of course Sunday is Easter and the kids will be over for dinner.  Also Friday is my birthday - the big 50.  We don't have much planned for that, as finances are a little tight right now.  But to me, just having a fun weekend and spending time with my family is enough for me.  I am not a big party person.  Not usually anyway.

Well, back to work with myself.  I will have to do a little visiting between working.  I notice that everyone has been out and about lately and I only had two visitors this weekend.  The month of May will be a year since I started my Blog.  I'm going to take some time and go back to see what I was doing last year around that time.  Take care!

April Fools, Tattoo's and Birthdays

It dawned on me this morning that I completely missed April Fools Day this year.  Usually I never miss a chance to play a joke on someone in my family, nor do they pass up the opportunity to do the same.  It must have been the fact that Kevin and I were so preoccupied with Eric that we never even realized the date.  Did anyone else play any April Fools jokes or get fooled themselves?

I'm feeling much better today.  My nose is still sore from blowing it too often, but I can live with it for now.  Product Reps are here today and bought lunch so I got a Veal Parm Sandwich.  Now I'm so full I can't walk.  Sore nose - can't walk, but at least I'm not hungry.  They are all upstairs in a meeting so I can play as much Crabby Crab games as I want.

I have been considering getting a new tattoo for my 50th birthday.  I already have 2 of them in a very discreet place, and was thinking of a small one that people could see.  Not somewhere that I couldn't look professional, but one that can be seen when I am wearing something casual, at home stuff.  Midlife crisis you ask?  Maybe, but it's ok.  At 50 I guess I've earned the right to have any crisis I want.  But no - I don't believe that is it.  I don't mind turning 50.  To me it's not much different than when I turned 30 or 40.  I don't measure life by ages or numbers.  I guess I just want a new tattoo and it's a nice way to remember my birthday.

So, Skip's not around today, (I'm sure he'd have something intelligent and wise to say about the idea), Theresa's got a new job and is absent also (but I'm sure she'd love the idea for me) so I bounced the idea around with buddy Cindi, a.k.a. "Rod" and I think I just might do it.  Now I have only to find the perfect one and figure where to put it.  Anyone have suggestions?  Remember - thinking small here.

Poor Little Me with a Cold

Well I have a cold - Scratchy throat (sore), runny nose (it's sore too) and cough. Stupid screwy weather - not to mention the person who gave me germs.  Although it might have been Eric, so that's ok then.

Nikki just sent me pictures of Eric with his Sippy cup.  They are so adorable.  I will post one here, but let her put them on her Space because we have some of the same friends.  Sorry Nic - but it takes you forever and I can't wait for everyone to see.

It's still cold here today - which pretty much matches my state of mind.  Add to the aggravation that my boss finally fixed the door knob to the door going into the warehouse to ouside.  Before all we had to do was push or pull the door.  Now we have to actually turn the handle.  We will all have flat noses before the week is out.  No one remembers to turn the handle.  We just push and walk.  It's kinda funny actually to watch everyone walk into the door.  Even the customers are used to it and have forgotten.  LOL!  I've done it quite a few time - stupid door.

I guess this cold is really making me an airhead.  I keep invoicing and forgetting to put the invoices in the printer and have to redo them.    Ok - here is Eric's Sippy Cup picture.  I'm off to visit.  Spaces has been quiet lately don't you think?

Rainy April

I do believe April Showers have begun.  It's a rainy, cloudy Tuesday morning in upstate New York.  Well - at least it isn't snow!

After our action packed weekend with Eric, Monday night was quite a quiet night.  I am amazed all over again at how much time a little one takes.  My house looked like there were at least a dozen babies hanging out.  Not just one room but all.  Bottles, baby food, burp cloths, toys, blankets, etc., etc.,   He went home Sunday and I am still finding things.  We did have so much fun though.  He is so cute and loves to play.

Let's see, what else is new?  I guess not much.  We were able to sit outside in the yard Sunday for awhile and while that felt so good, it made me lazy, just like sitting in the sun always does.  We looked over our yard and realized we have much work to do before getting ready for the summer season.  We probably could have started then, but we thought we would just enjoy the sun and the day before we had to spend time raking and cleaning.

This weekend we will go to Nikki's to help set up the crib.  Kevin has a bachelor party at the bowling alley on Saturday, so I will drop him off and pick him up.  Don't have any idea yet what I'll do while he is there.  But I'm sure I'll find something.  Maybe watch a movie or get a new book.  The weather isn't supposed to be very nice.

Ok - I'm off to do some visiting.  I haven't been around much in the last week so I'm sure I'm missing out on something.  That is except for my daughter's site.  I happen to know she hasn't updated in ages.

Monday Morning

We had a great weekend with Eric.  I've put a few pictures above so check them out!  He is such a good little guy we really didn't want him to go home.

Work is pretty busy today so I'm hurrying to get these pictures up and say hello.  I'm hoping to get back later and do some visiting.
