29 juin Just rambling --
So what does everyone have planned for the 4th of July? I know that if I had the opportunity, I think I'd head for the Jersey Shore or some other beach close by. Unfortunately - all of our money and time are going into getting the house ready to sell. By the way -- that is not me up there dancing around -- I have quite abit more meat on my bones than that. This is where my dreams would take me today:
27 juin Heat and Thunder Storms!Upstate New York is sweltering in this heat. Over 90 degrees and with the humidity it feels like over 100. Thunderstorms are predicted for this afternoon/evening, and that will cool it off. The next few days are supposed to be low 80's. As much as I love summer, this heat gets a little hard to take. I thank God we have our pool, but what we also need is some air conditioning. Fans just don't cut it. Everyone at home is cranky and irratable. Hungry, but no one feels like cooking. No one feels like moving too quickly to do much of anything in this heat.
Not much is happening here this week. Just going home, jumping in the pool. Oh - I did get a new book. Luanne Rice "Sandcastles" -- I love her books and I have been waiting for it to come out in paperback. Dang finances again -- I didn't really want to wait. So while Kevin flips the channels on the tv, I can ignore it and read my book. Otherwise it drives me crazy.
Well here it is 3:30 and I find I really have not much more to write. I started this at about 10 this morning. I'm looking off in the distace a
nd see the sky becoming pretty dark, which probably means I won't get home in time for a dip in the pool. Oh well, on the bright side, it will cool things off -- and I have my book to curl up and read tonight. Ahhh yes, there's a rumble....Take care!
26 juin Sure is hot!Not complaining mind you -- just making an observation. Poor Charlie, landscaping cannot be fun in this weather.
25 juin MondayI hope everyone had a nice weekend. Mine was nice given the fact that it was a lazy yet productive one. After the hectic activities of last weekend I sure needed it. We did quite a few "chores" around the house buy knocked off early both Sat and Sun to just sit back in the yard and relax. Simple stuff for dinner made it even better.
Geez - the fourth of July falls on a Wednesday this year. How weird is that. I just mentioned that to my boss and he said "yeah - we don't even get it off this year" -- I do hope he was kidding. So anyway - given that the 4th is a Wednesday, which weekend is the 4th celebrated?
I just finished James Pattersons new book, "Step On A Crack". Very good book. Now the hunt begins for something new to read. I simply cannot be without a book in the summer -- you know -- sunshine, lawn chair, fresh air, dozing off in the middle of a paragraph...
Unfortunately I just found out that Skip and I will not be able to get together while he is traveling here. He will be with his boss and they are on a tight schedule so there will be no time. I'm still hoping that Skip will get send here again. He mentioned something about jail time for all the trouble we would get into and I don't want to be in jail in the summer.
I'm off to do a little visiting. Hopefully I get back this way tomorrow! Take care everyone!
![]() 18 juin Hello my friends...It's so hard to believe another weekend has come and gone. The days are passing so quickly. I hope everyone enjoyed theirs and all the Daddy's had a great Father's Day.
We had quite a busy weekend. Saturday, after shopping, yardwork (Kevin did yardwork, I did the shopping), we got ready for the Cruise for Kevin's bowling banquet. It was fun (as it always is). Although I think the food was better in the previous years. This year was a buffet and usually it is sit down. The best part is no one has to drive as they hire a bus for the league for there and back. And everyone had a driver waiting for them. Our sweet adult children picked us up in groups and everyone got home safely.
Sunday started out a little late (you all know that I NEVER sleep late). But it was a nice luxury anyway. My grandaugher Kaelynn had her 3rd Birthday party and all the family was there. Her theme was Shamu because she fell in love with him at Sea World when her mom and she visited Florida. It was so hot the kids all went into the pool. Whoever didn't have a suit went in their shorts. I did get a few pictures which I will post tomorrow. Dummy me didn't charge the camera from the pictures of the Cruise (left it in my purse) so it didn't run long. Darn --
What? You want to see the pictures of the Cruise...hmmmm - I'll have to think about that...LOL! It's not pretty....
Nik and Daniel have reservations to come home for a week in August with Eric. I can hardly wait to see them. I know we just left them a few weeks ago but I still miss them so much.
Well - it's time for me to be heading home. I have to do the Company Sales Tax tomorrow (pain in the neck), but I am hoping to get back on and write a little more. Time just seems to be flying by and I want to get around and visit you all. As usual I just know I'm missing something. Till later.......Enjoy your week! 14 juin In ProgressJust a quick hello and a note to let you all know that I'm trying to fix up my space and as usual have made a mess of it and am unable to finish today. Cindi is helping me do this so a special note to her:
HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Take care all!
Deb 13 juin Something so great happened!I got home on Monday and there was a package on my porch from the mailman. I was kind of puzzled because I hadn't ordered anything and it was from a photo place -- a white styro-foam package. You know you get a little nervous when you get a package and you didn't order anything?? Well I carefully opened it one side at a time .. LOL!.. trying to peer inside. I finally got all 4 sides opened and lifted the top off and this is what I found...
Isn't it great???
Here it is from another angle:
I brought it to work today to take a picture to show you all! It was such a wonderful surprise. It just goes to show you how much of a sweetheart she really is. I keep hoping she and hubby will plan a trip to New York...
Well I guess by now you know that my quiet Saturday morning coffee time with you all didn't get to happen. We had quite a busy weekend. Saturday my nephew showed up with his two adorable little girls, Kennedy and Morgan and we enjoyed the yard for most of the day. You can see a few picutures of them I took above.
Sunday we had a few friends over and once again spent most of the day in the yard and when it rained went and sat on the front porch. It was nice but I was so tired from entertaining and such, plus I never got everything I wanted to do done that weekend. Oh well - I'm making progress this week. I only have Saturday morning to do chores this weekend as well. Saturday is the JP Cruise for Kevin's Bowling league and Sunday is Kaelynn's third birthday party and we will be there most of the day. Yep, summer is in full swing around here. Now if the pool would just warm up enough for us to get in. 72 is much to cold for me. Kev said when we left this morning it was 74 -- still not warm enough for me ....
Well - I'm off to add the pictures and to do a little visiting in the hour I have left at work. It has turned into a beautiful day here in NY State. "COME ON SUN!! BEAT UPON THAT POOL!"
Till later!
8 juin Time!! I need more Time!!Ah -- the stranger returns....
I was sitting back this morning with my coffee and thinking of what a crazy 2 or 3 months it has been for me. No sooner do I adjust to one situation, then it changes and something else is thrown my way. Don't get me wrong, I'm not complaining. Although I have been feeling exhausted lately (not so much physical) I am quite proud of the way I seem to be rolling with the punches. At least I think I am. Or, could it be I am flat out ignoring them, hence my inability to want to do anything more than what I have to. Make any sense to anyone? Well, enough of my senseless rambles.
You are all waiting for pictures and I am getting them. I made the mistake of putting them on my online Gallery, and now when I go to put them on here, I find I have to download them to my hard drive first. Unfortunately I am not finding a way to do that from my Gallery except for just one picture at a time. There must be an easier way -- but I'm not seeing it. Alot of the pictures are very similiar to Melissa's (without the clever funnies of course).
~~~~~~~~~~~~~
See what I mean? I started this update yesterday and was working with the pictures and ran out of time. It just seems to get busier and busier and I had better pay my bills as well or else. There is much to catch you up on, but I think I'll do that over the weekend. A nice early and quiet Saturday morning on the computer with my coffee sounds like just the ticket. Meantime, I'm going to get these pictures on here today if it kills me. Last dang time I do that (put them on my gallery). I just didn't want to leave them on the memory stick because I wanted Nikki to have that and I was using Nikki's camera. If time permits I will finish up visiting as I miss you all....So -- till tomorrow a.m. all I have to say is:
4 juin I'm Home!Actually right now I'm at work - buried up to my ears in work. I haven't had much time to update or work on my pictures to put here due to the catching up that needs doing here. I'm hoping to get some time during my lunch hour or later in the afternoon, to download the pictures of our beach day at least. Meanwhile, I just wanted to check in to let you all know I'm not purposely staying away. With Kevin getting home, our trip to Florida and even when we arrived home the food shopping and chores to do I've been going non-stop (which is a nice change from being bored out of my head).
It is pouring rain here (remants of Tropical Storm Barry, I believe) who followed me from Flordia. Yes, I did get to go over that huge bridge (Skygate??) and in the middle of the storm on Saturday morning on the way to the airport. So - hopefully I will get a chance to vist soon as I know I am missing out on what's going on with my friends here. Till then,
